Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), West Bengal, has announced the rescheduling of its Even Semester 2025–26 examinations that were originally scheduled for July 6, 2026. The affected examinations will now be held on July 14, 2026.
The decision comes after the Government of West Bengal declared July 6, 2026 (Monday) a public holiday across the state to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee. The holiday was notified by the Finance Department under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.
In an official notification issued on July 2, 2026, MAKAUT stated that no examinations can be conducted on the declared public holiday. As a result, all Even Semester examinations scheduled for July 6 have been postponed and will now take place on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.
The University has clarified that only the examinations scheduled for July 6 have been rescheduled. All other examination dates mentioned in the published Even Semester 2025–26 examination programme will remain unchanged.
MAKAUT has instructed principals and heads of affiliated colleges, officers-in-charge of examination centres, and University representatives to immediately inform students about the revised examination date. Colleges have also been asked to publicise the notification through notice boards, official websites, and other communication channels to ensure that all examinees are aware of the change.
Students who were scheduled to appear for examinations on July 6, 2026, should now prepare to appear for the same papers on July 14, 2026, while following the existing examination schedule for all other papers.
